This makes the crosshair robust and maintenance free for years to come. The Sharpie marker ink is permanent so you can't remove it from the glass even if you rub it with your fingers. I would think it's on the scale of 1000%, basically 10 times better than before! With this trick, my fire-fight kills with a sniper rifle increased tremendously. Generally, the actual crosshair is between these two points as I shift around on my chair. So I also marked the crosshair from where I normally sit (see picture below). ![]() I generally sit slight above and to the left of the screen center when I play FPS games. So the perpendicular center is going to be slightly off. Now, even if you mark the center of the screen at perpendicular, it's most likely that your normal seating position doesn't put BOTH of your eyes at the center of the screen. The glass is quite thick on my Dell Trinitron monitor, so if you don't look at the screen in direct perpendicular, the mark would be off. The monitor glass has a thickness that must be accounted for. When you mark your crosshair, be sure to look at the screen surface as a perpendicular plane. I took a Sharpie from my desk, put the sniper scope on the screen, and marked the center of the glass CRT screen with a dot (see picture below). I have a bunch of Sharpie permanent markers on my desk for writing on CD surfaces. But with all the motion and the split-second decisions, I was only successful twice as often-a 100% improvement- as before I attempted to remember the center. So they implemented sniper rifle accuracy at the center of the screen with or without a scope.įor days, I tried to remember where is the center of the screen. They decided that the inaccuracy in our human eyes without a scope is sufficient to simulate a realistic sniper rifle. The loophole is introduced by the Counter-Strike: Source development team when they decided not to provide the crosshair for sniper rifles. With this trick a sniper will actually have a chance in short distance fire-fights in any FPS game that doesn't have a crosshair. In this article, I will show you a simple trick that will improve sniper rifle accuracy by 1000% without the use of a scope. Counter-Strike: Source made the snipe rifle even worse in fire-fights by eliminating the crosshair when scope is not in use. The sniper rifle is fairly useless in medium and short distance fire-fights although I have successfully won 1-to-1 fire-fights on occasions. Trouble is that the snipe rifle is a relatively slow firing weapon and it is fairly inaccurate without the scope. With the sniper rifle, you can pick off you enemies from long distance even if they have you in sight. One of my favorite weapons in any FPS game is the sniper rifle. ![]() Lately, my favorite is the Counter-Strike: Source that came with Half-Life 2. I have always been a fan of modern tactical first-person shooter games. Draw your own crosshair in first-person shooters
